Laying breed rooster? I've had one too, an Easter egger. I have pullets that hit harder than he did.
i did forget to mention hes a brahma not oeg
ive never dealt with a rooster that had no fear of humans though.. quite the thought
my oeg x is a big softy he was just standing there letting these little chicks peck n tug his wattle like it was nothing although he did hit a couple of em pretty hard a few times could be the red jungle fowl though i hear they can be paternal to some extent

J Shubin, you will have more diversity in any chicks hatched from your mixed game rhode island red cross.
if you choose to go forward with the project, you should kill the males, use the pullets for eggs.

ps, how about adding some roadrunner blood, it might help with that environment over there, lol
I figured there would be some diversity and thats what I want to see... These two RIR crosses I have (male and female) are full brother and sister but there are some differences, The male has pink legs/pea comb and the female have yellow legs/straight comb.

And yea I wont be keeping anymore males of that type. And if I run out of space or loose interest I'll probably find these crosses a home somewhere else. I am not certain i even want any of these.

Can't imagine why seems like a winning combo to me

OEG could be game. They were originally.   I would suspect OEGB have lost it more so than standard size because of the ornamental allure.
wow your just a wealth of knowledge thanks for the info. Very few OEG is my guess. Absolutely no bantams or modern or what anybody has crossed them into.
