It takes time to breed the game out when you stay within a line. More time than a typical peddler can invest is likely to be involved. The saying a bird is not game is still more likely to be an empty insult but their is more to being a good game than simply being game. It is those other qualities that require a more consistent hand to maintain.
i agree. Although I wouldn't know how long it takes to breed the game out since imo that shouldn't be a goal with gamefowl anyway. I would imagine, height, weight and overall health would suffer faster. For those in it for a quick buck wouldn't care either way. The more strains of gamefowl one can own the more money that can be made. 1 cock with 6 or 7 hens and they are in business.

Whew, good thing I'm not getting games to breed or create a line, seems too much work and the need of A LOT of pens. I'm good with just getting a trio or pair and maybe incubate a few eggs when the cock or hens are old. I'll keep to breeding silkies.
hahahaha if it seems like too much work multiply that by about 10 and then you would be close.

If that's all, I would probably need at least a few CENTURIES to create a line with everything else I do.

It is entirely possible to just own gamefowl. You don't have to create anything or try to make money off of it. You can just enjoy owning and taking care of them.

That's what I plan to do. Oh, is that a spangled hen?
