Homo sapiens is extirpating predator and prey species at an accelerating rate. Food webs are getting simpler and less stable. Management now needed to stabilize much of what is less. I hunt. Hunting pressure is getting too high even though per capita take is very low. Habitat loss is far more problematic in some places. Habitat loss is increasingly due to climate change. Invasive exotics greatly complicating the whole mess.

Time to leave some areas untouched and possibly time to reverse some savanah ape encroachment.
Care to name the prey and predators that are being extirpated? None within my lifetime.

I choose the side were we make/enforce laws, policies, and programs (like Duck stamp and National Park service) to save nature... I am worried that Trump will sell it to the next housing developer or oil company.

I like nature as much as any outdoorsmen (which I consider myself to be). I am not a hunter, but I am not against hunting if managed correctly. I dont like the idea of hunting predators at all.

I think we are on the same page for the most part. I dont what you think I am trying to say. We'd both like to conserve nature.
The problem there would be the demand for the fancy houses with 1 acre lots they destroyed the habitat for.

That's happening all around me. People want giant houses on an acre or so and only clear big enough for the house then freak out when the animals get in their trash or meet them on their huge deck.

On a side note I'd like to bring back the sabor toothed cats

Now common sense tells ya if a predator keeps coming back time and time again to rid yourself of it, what if it got ahold of your youngn's or wife and you have had multiple times to take care of the situation?

I hunt mostly for deer and turkey for the meat not the sport of it or the horns or beard those are just a bonus, but if something means me harm I'm going to handle it.

Every plant and animal should be defending it's right to live.

Extermination of animals that are a threat is wrong in my opinion. Not accusing anybody here of that. . Just saying. Id go for some saber tooth as well but I'd be prepared to defend myself. Spear and rock in hand.

Shubin I'm gonna set a few traps this weekend in your honor buddy.

Yeah and they do a great job of putting porta sh*tters way back along a wild trout stream. Another waste of money. They do a great job of altering the landscape to suit the masses of out of shape pathetic souls that want to pretend like they are really in a wilderness setting but couldn't actually hike, walk, run etc more than 100 yds without passing out. I'm not talking about disabled facilities, totally different.

they want nature, but don't want to step off the pavement.

they find a way. consider poison ivy, or hogweed. raccoons, coyote and others adapt pretty darn good.

there's no reasoning with those animals. they would kill every one of my chickens if given the chance.

it is my responsibility to do what I can to protect the health and well being of my chickens.

those predators will not give you the same consideration you would give them.
