they find a way. consider poison ivy, or hogweed. raccoons, coyote and others adapt pretty darn good.

there's no reasoning with those animals. they would kill every one of my chickens if given the chance.

it is my responsibility to do what I can to protect the health and well being of my chickens.

those predators will not give you the same consideration you would give them.

100% agree

I do not think most of us are out with intention of exterminating predators. The predators and pest that remain are tough and versatile enough that such efforts are not likely to be effective. I just go for control of losses and yes I kill a few in the process.

Extreme positions being adopted here that are not needed.

Every plant and animal should be defending it's right to live.

Extermination of animals that are a threat is wrong in my opinion. Not accusing anybody here of that. . Just saying. Id go for some saber tooth as well but I'd be prepared to defend myself. Spear and rock in hand.
on the flip side that first sentence could regard all the prey (chickens). It's just the food chain. I eat eggs and chickens so we're competing its life. I don't go looking but will defend me and mine's if needed. Like dogs all they do is kill for the thrill its instinct. I'm not gonna let a dog come through here and kill the defensiveless chickens. The keeper is responsible for the safety of his flock

My fibro birds have been getting a bit more aggressive with each other. But look at that contact. Both feet in the face.
My dogs normally break the birds up. But I was right there when these guys started.

I don't know what the h*ll a fibro is but if they are running loose and can get to your pens with roosters in them you may have an issue one day.

Where's all the AR ninjas? 85 degrees here. Oh well nobody wants to argue, think I'll go fishing.

Lol, I'll be fishing another tournament in the morning with 20 to 30 mph winds. That's going to make for a physical and stressed out day. SW winds will be coming straight up Toledo Bend lake.

All of the free rangers do not have access or sight to the gamefowl. And the free rangers are in the back 150'x150' with an 8 ft fence with the dogs.
