Ya that stream/river is a good 4.5 hours from my house. I live about 30-40 minutes from ocean with a boat in harbor

yea behind my house lol Ive been feeding the homeless coyotes for years. They have the right to eat too.

I tried ocean fishing once from a boat and shore/peer I wasn't a fan at all. I'll hit up a stream, to each their own I guess.

ya thats just how I grew up.. going with dad out to Newport harbor and taking the boat out to Catalina and various kelp beds.

No streams or rivers around here. there are only concrete canals and dried up creeks in So Cal

Have tons of those but they keep to flood basin about 1/2 mile from my house... we are allowed to hunt those with Bows, shotgun slugs and spears. ...just need a hunting license..

I encountered one down there once adn my dog got on it, but I freaked out and called him back while that hog was screaming bloody murder

More like ninja turtlish. More for protection. Sh*t can happen when a 5yr old is swinging around 4/0 hook.
Years ago in Wisconsin I had to get a rapala treble hook yanked outta my forehead, courtesy of my wife. I still think she did it on purpose.
