@1cock2hens how many hens you have like that?

Dont see much Saipan in her... Saipan would be one of the worst for flying I would think.

She does have nice compact flying looking body.
I have 2 and I'm getting a third one Wednesday, I'm also picking up a cross stags from them/ they are only 3 months old/ the person I got them from has full Saipans for sale as well and I agree they don't look like the Saipans at all//

Flying chickens are cool but I am not looking for them in particular... I have doves that are sweet flyers. erratic and fast.

In gamefowl I see flyers as a healthy chicken. Its like a person who is actively running and jumping up the stairs instead on walking...
A rooster who flys up high, flaps his wings and crows is a sign of power...
A hen flying off her nest to take a break from brooding. The louder and farther she flys the healthier she appears to me.

I understand what you mean. I'm just saying those things are just common sense when it comes to healthy birds. Just like an active rooster that's cutting his wing and dancing around at feeding time. Generally just active birds or lazy birds.

That bird looks like it has at least a little grey in her from the coloring on her cape.[/QUOTE
that's an interesting observation, I don't know anything except what I was told they were supposed to be. I Know that on the average farm the Chances of finding Saipan that are pure would be very slim and I know the same is true with the mug, most other gamefowl as well, so I'm sure there is probably something else somewhere in her makeup

Me too... well looking at the skeletons selecting for lower tail angles, longer flatter top line, and longer tail would gradually get us that direction. Strong solid legs with good movement, less curved necks but long... it could be done. :D
