I never feed crumbles if I can help it except for babies. The waste is ridiculous.

I like it just for that reason.... they scratch around for the tiniest little dust pieces throughout the day... And its high in protein.

but I dont throw it into the adults pens unless they have chicks.

Today I added some super coarse 50% carbon, 42% oxygen, 6% hydrogen, 1% nitrogen, and 1% other elements to the feed, this how real game eats!

x2 They waste so much in the way of crumbles. This year I started feeding the babies crumble starter morning and night to cut down on the waste. The hens and babies have pellets in front of them all the time, but after they are a week or two old I cut back on the crumbles.

They will dig out an entire feeder full of crumbles looking for something better. Once they start doing that I mix in pellets for about a week or so and then just g straight to pellets. I have switched them abruptly with no problems though.
