Good morning LaosGood morning Vietnam.
You didn’t break anything. Gets a little slow in here on the weekends.
That’s pretty sh*tty that the mans son just killed all the birds.
Hopefully he’s haunting the hell out of him for that.Yeah it was shitty. Still talked about to this day among the older farmers in the area.
The games and barnyard fowl were killed, the cows went to auction. He had the only heard of shorthorn left in the area. Farm sold within a couple weeks to a developer. It's all gone.
I do care about the weights of my broodfowl and my crosses. I don't want any of my crossed cocks over 5.12, and my broodcocks I like them in the mid to high 4s.I didn't mean to break the thread.
It's a lot of thread to read through, so just gonna ask. Do any of you guys weigh your birds? Or do you breed without a care to the weights?
I know that you regulars really know your birds and what it takes to breed good fowl. So i'm gonna guess weights don't matter much, but I was just curious.
It's been about 10 years since the old cocker down the road passed. He had some nice birds, couldn't tell ya which lines. Some looked like Warhorse, some were gray, and some had what he called a "knot" on their head. Little tuft of feathers. His son killed them all when he passed. I still think about that to this day and wish I had gone and taken the birds.
I always admired him and his fowl. He always had a cold root beer ready for me when I was young. Old man and I would deliver him hay for his cattle.
I watch weights as well. My cocks are in the middle 5's which is problematic if you are outside the average by too much.I didn't mean to break the thread.
