Females can cuckold as well. Down your way female wood ducks will purposely lay eggs in the nest of other females. Second female allows first to have potential for more offspring, at expense of second female. Younger females, in games, are most likely to do it in part because they have have higher egg output and may not have first dibs at preferred nest sites. There is also the across species stuff like done by cowbirds. Females are primary players in that as well when it comes to where eggs are deposited at cost of someone else.

Centra, I wasn't really thinking about it in that sense. I can have multiple females in a pen with multiple nests. For some reason, the most attractive nest is the one that has a hen or eggs already in the nest. I would think a broody hen would be a deterrent, but not always.
