Question for the geneticists ( the real ones not the ones that play one at school) why do different breeds of bb red games have different color chicks. I'd imagine if they all bb red all their chicks would look the same. Like some hatch are dark some are light and these are yellow like sweaters

Lol, I just play one on TV does that count? BB Red is the base wild type pattern. You can then add or subtract all kinds of modifier genes/alleles. It is like buying a truck. You start with a truck and then select whatever trim level and list of accessories you want.

This is so true. Most go by what we can see on the surface, but there is so much more involved than what we can see. Does it really matter anyway? Those who depend on their fowl have raised them long enough to know them reasonably well.
