Funny is I was gonna ask if they were leipers but decided I would be stupid and say silver quills lol

So....this may be a stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway, lol.
Game fowl intrigue me, they're so stunning and gorgeous!
Pretty sure they used to be (probably still are) used for cock fights, correct? With that being illegal in the US, what do you guys keep and use them for?

I've been reading the last 8 pages or so of comments, so I've gathered they're not really good layers - sounds a lot like my guineas - where they have a certain laying season, they're way more agressive then "normal" chickens, and males need to be kept absolutely separate from any other male, or be the only male period because of their temperament.
So besides their looks, what do you guys like about them, or use them for?

Many reason. I only have 2 gamehens until i get these chicks in a little bit so i really dont feel like my answer should be held with the same regard as the others who post regularly on this page. that being said to me they are more regal birds then others. they demand attention, respect. you have to be more hands on with them and I love the history behind them and i thikn it's important that lines are preserved. The hens lay good enough, really. especially if you have several. they are great at free ranging and they are beautiful. there are more reasons i'm sure.

That pretty much sums it up. I would like to ask what you like about guineas. They don’t eat anymore bugs than any other birds. They might sound an alarm but no better than a rooster. Plus they are ridiculously annoying, ugly as hell and they stink.
