This brood of 17, 16 are visible, was produced by same female that was mother of previous brood. Female was still a pullet and typical where pullets tend to set on larger clutches numerically than they do later in life.

What breed family are the lil ones Redquill?

Best described as Hatch-looking. Hatch in background as well as Mug from way back. Particular mating was all black-breast red with a little dirty. Dirty birds have faint baring on secondaries of juveniles and adult females. Males where often jokingly referred to as dirty-Hatch.

Been cold the past few days. Hose is frozen had to run water pitchers out of the house. Gotta love when you fill a water cup and the bird dances all over it and knocks it off the wire as soon as it's filled up. The ice pops right out of the diagonal v cups too.

Hasn't been frozen but sure has been wet here. I need to get to replacing my roofs too they starting to frey

All my tarps are good for now, hoping they last til spring at least. Actually the oldest ones on the brood pens will probably need replacing soon cause of my sloppy wire cutting.
