Yep I'll be dubbing in the fall too. Speaking of fall. Had a nice flock of woodies buzz the treetops just before dark. Won't be long!!

he'd look awesome dubbed. I have to wait till fall now. The wife says they don't look right, she wants to dub more than I do. To her it ain't a game unless it's dubbed
Sounds like you got a great wife there SDM!

Brown-breasted Brown Red hatched late September 2014. Just reached bullstag state no more than a month ago and already going into molt. Typical of such late hatch his tail feathers are not all that ample.

Nice (looking) bird! Have you had any issues with birds hatched that late making it through the winter?

With games no. American Doms not so tough when housed in pens as not so smart. No deathloss. Even during worst winters during the 1970's I had December hatches of games in manger area of barn starting with a dozen and coming out in spring with a dozen. The winter reared birds could not get outside and had diet dominated by spilt hog feed and whatever they could scratch out of manure from hay fed cattle. Such birds had over-sized combs and had a dumpy look but those kept got to normal appearance by following fall.

Bullpullet used as a broody hen this year. She is full-sibling of same brood to bullstag posted above. They could not be distinguished until nearly 6 weeks old. She is good natured but does weird stuff when fox came through. That weird stuff distracted fox enough that dogs almost got it.

These guys are using the same hole for dust bathing in front yard that has been used every year for the last six. Similar spots are out in the pasture that also get repeated action.

Great looking bullstag... really nice stance on that first photo.
Is he wandering around at night? Looks dark.

I wish mine would use the same hole... mine seem to create new ones every week. and they make them right at the base of my plants/trees (where its damp.) The rest of the yard is tightly packed clay and decomposed granite.
