What age they become sexually active?
The Blues I hatched from you SDM having been trying to be sexually active fro a couple of weeks now and they are just about 16 weeks old. They are funny to watch as they are trying to mate with some pullets just shy of a year. They seem to be most successful with the "sneak attack". The males wait until the pullets are picking something up, run over and mate and then keep on running with the pullet in pursuit.

I've only lost birds to wild animals. Hawks, fox (many), 1 possibly to a raccoon but not positive. 1 to a possum. D*mn I better not have just jinxed myself.

does this look like a hennie to any one...

Not a pure. Tail black, breast nearly black and duck wing starting to show through on wings. If my understanding is correct about half-hennies, then it could be hennie going into a typical bullstag coloration that will be followed by hennie feathering next fall.

so far I lost 3, in 2015 1 chick drowned in a waterer, 1 quill chick died a couple days after I got them, and a black bull stag was stiff in the pen one evening no symptoms

None to other animals or other chickens

sounds easier to remove the dog, instead of trying to reinforce the coops. Dog will keep trying and probably dig under if needed. Especially when chickens are freaking out,,, just makes the dog more excited.

Hopefully you can get another start soon enough with some good quality fowl.

sorry again
always easier to remove the dog just remember to dig the hole first preferably after a rain fall
They're a lot heavier than they look when they runnin

That's awesome! I've lost one hen, one 2yr old brood cock, and about a dozen chicks

Oh no I've lost a few chicks and birds. 1 drowned in waterer, 2 dropped dead. 2 killed by other birds. 1 damage severe enough to warrant culling. Culled one hen because she prolapsed and wasn't getting any better.
I meant losses to domestic type animals.
