I had a grown cock hit me one time on my thumb knuckle at the hand that hurt like well real bad. Wasn't his fault he was all charged up and was reflex when I went to get him from behind.
I bet that hurt!
So far he's the only one. Two miners like dropping their wings to me and the blue one likes to peck me but he's fine to pick up. It's still early on though

Yeah I got one miner stag the splash one a few pages back that does the wing drop and comes at me sideways and is soo intense his sickle feathers puff up. But I scoop him up and he's fine. And I solid blue cock that used to lower a wing and come to me sideways with his head cocked to the side eyeing me up but he's broke of that and eating out my hand and easily handled. Neither have actually lit me though. Hatch are a different story. This solid blue but hard to see

So far them rubles are still calm. The one in the pic I just posted likes to fly all over the yard though. I chased him the length of my yard as he hopped from pen to pen all the way back. I had enough and just put him back. He must have thought it was a game.

I have found an answer to my regularly frozen water bowls. the black plastic containers from chow mein ramen type noodles. they have handled my field testing without any cracking, so far. I even stepped on one accidently and it has held up. the meal costs .88 cents at walmart. If you don't like them, you can always feed them to your chickens. they eat em up.

check out the spurs on this boy

Not really looking foward to letting him wail away on me for weeks but thats what it's gonna take I'm sure. I had muck boots on and he wouldn't bother my legs just my hands. Just don't wanna be handled I suppose. I'll work with him.

It has been a while since dealing with an actual game that targeted hands. Last one was killed by same had he hit before he could actually get his feet back on the ground, With games the emphasis has usually been with prevention so the hand targeting problem was not properly explored. I am dealing an American Dominique that does the same but he is largely inept in his attacks and good Carharts with a sweatshirt underneath provide good protection against his pointy parts and does OK against the bruising. I have been messing with this dude in manner that should work with a similarly disposed game and making headway.

Take a look at these two videos and you will see some actions I do seem to set him off and other things confuse him which result in the attacks breaking off. I am starting to provide fewer actions that set him off and stay in his space to confuse him. Even though effort so far has been minimal his inclination to attack is already greatly reduced although he still talks smack.

+5 for all those chickens.
I'll see how he does either tomorrow if I get home early enough or over the weekend. He hasn't been a problem at all until today. Just filling his feed cup he was pecking me hard right through my gloves. The cup is on the inside of his pen so he was determined to get my hand since he had to stick his head through the wire to make it happen.
I use a feed scoop to fill it without having to reach in the pen

Licks were not all that uncomfortable, rather they were annoying he is the first bird in a long time that has done such and I actively promoted to see how I could train him back out. A lot of people have such issues all too regularly and I wanted to see how it could be addressed without the culling-on-the-spot typically employed on man-fighting games. Man-fighter games tend to be an embarrassment and not worth their keep so typically treat them promptly on the occasions they do betray themselves. The backyard people seem really prone to having this man-fighting issue and most seem to treat in a manner that I think makes it decidedly worse.

Two different cameras used. First camera the birds all seem to have issue with and try to attack. The little GoPro camera seems not to catch their eye. First camera cost too much to risk birds putting licks on.

Yup most people kick em back and wonder why they don't back down. This guy is staying regardless, I'll fix him of at least take a helluva beating trying.
