It not that you let it get that bad, rather it is how far along the necrosis process has gone when you dub. Generally, that first night or day it happens is the worst it gets with respect to what will ultimately fall off. Assuming no infection.
my pens sit lower than the rest of my yard so I deal with a bit of flooding every now and then too. Frustrating to say the least.I don't know, the snow suks too. I had a little over 2" of sleet then the melt down water this evening and tonight another round of icy mix. I live on a hill and all the water runs through and around my pens
i dubbed that stag on Saturday night. Very little blood. However it was cold and I took him off his roost at night. So if the almanac says sat was a good day then I would agree. Otherwise I don't have enough experience dubbing birds to say either way.Do you guys dub according to where the blood is (almanac) or ignore that & dub whenever? (We watch the almanac, just wondering)
