Take it easy man I ain't culling em. I just wanted them out of the pen with the pullets. To let the blue kote dry so I can put another coating on.

Let natural selection handle it.  Instead of culling have you ever tried releasing them into the forested areas around your house?

John,

Letting pen-reared birds out like that yields much higher losses than realized with free-range reared. Isolation of wounded birds followed by application of bluekote easiest route. To prevent, revisit feeding regimen paying particular attention to protein level.

haha I'm taking it easy. I took like 3 chill pills this morning.

Just want everyone to know that there is a Valhalla for gamecocks.

Yea I agree. I wasnt aware that they were the ones who pecked the pullet and were only temporarily out. I thought those were just his cull birds.

i don't particularly like to up the protein levels til about now. I was about a day or so behind the 8 ball. Too much protein too fast can cause bone problems without enough calcium.

is there a particular time of year to up the protien levels? Or does it depend on age?

mainly age, molting and if your trying to pack on muscle. No real difference than in humans, well except for the molting.

Gamefowl are fighters, they should die fighting for their life.
yeah legalize it! I wholeheartedly agree![/QUOTE]
Im coming around (I was anti)...but I realized ultimately they all die. Centra pointed that out a while ago, that there is only handful of end results for gamefowl. Disease, Old age, Predators, Dinner plate, or in a fight. Death from old age would be ideal on my fantasy list, but that never happens.
