Sold two stags yesterday to a Filipino guy who knew how to pick out good stags... Bought one of SDM's kelso/hatches and my big (brood potential) wild type stag.

I am curious how others go about selecting brood fowl... For me, it is really tough when they are young, but there are only so many pens. I tend to look for "general appearance" when they are young. Are they alert, are they dominant, do they have a good solid feel when you pick them up. That is about the best I can do when they are young. Pullets seem to be the hardest for me. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated!
