the real trick with the bucket test is getting the feed at just the right height so that it is just out of reach. They should be able to almost get it (like 1/2 inch away).  When the feed is that close they are tempted to just keep reaching over and over.  

The passing criteria is that they realize failure and try a new plan.  Jumping into a bucket is not intelligent, its the fact that they are learning from failure that shows their intelligent. 


Ok well tomorrow I'll flip a regular bucket upright and put feed in the bottom and put them in it and fill with water and see if they can get out, that'll be the real test
 
Hawk got one of these stags before I could pen them up 3 days ago

I am surprised that a hawk could get something that big. My redtail hawks only get 1 mo or younger chicks from what I have seen.

Watched a hawk chase my dove they other day... went missing for 2 days, and then I saw it back in the avairy yesterday morning.

at least thats the theory.. I could be full of shhhh :)
I say your full of sh*t. If they don't learn to eat where the food is they ain't gonna last long. Lol
