No not always the case. I've had pullets fight the stags, she ends up dead. Different quality of birds I suppose.

Just figure nuttin can be put together if it happens to work its a bonus but don't count on it u ain't messing with silkies

The safe bet would be to wait til the stag is at least 1 yr old before putting him in with a pullet. Less problems, I have like a 10 % success rate otherwise. Wasted whole days moving birds around just to find out it ain't gonna work. Not wise to tell someone otherwise. We're talking the rule not the exception.
 
Even if there isn't a dead bird the pullets will be roughed up, bare backed, etc.. not worth it

@miss heny dont let those guys scare you... hens and stags should be fine together as long as they were raised well.

Having confined birds and then introducing new ones will cause problems. If they came from free range setting they will probably know how to act.

There will always be testing of dominance and some fighting, but if you are watching them there shouldnt be a problem with death, as you could remove trouble makers or weak hens/pullets before that happens.
