Ever had "rooster eggs"? We used to have a flock of layers and sell eggs from the house. My wife came and got me and asked if I would come and explain to a nice lady that there was no such thing as "rooster eggs". Really sweet lady, but the language barrier was the challenge between us. After a little while I realized she simply wanted eggs that were fertilized by a rooster... We were good then!

when I gave my neighbor a dozen eggs he asked if I knew which hen laid which. I told him and he was shocked. When u see them everyday u learn. But it was 3 obviously different hens

That is where some of the food use market it going. Some better healed consumers want to have a relationship or knowing of where there food is coming from. It is not just the hippie types doing it.

Maybe, depending on language she was speaking through she meant "roostered" eggs? Which to me would be same as fertile eggs.

I bet she thought you were a knumb nut. I get that with language barriers from time to time. Usually good for a laugh later.

I don't know about U guys but I keep a pencil attached to each pen. The hens mark and date each egg for me.

Yep, she wouldn't be too far off either! So true, I often have to communicate across languages and I don't know any others besides very little Spanish and English on a good day. I do not take any offense, and hope I do not offend. It is just tough to play charades over the phone. Google translate is great!

I take a little 60 degree weather right about now.  We are supposed to be dipping down in single digits later this week.
