I am not certain who you are getting into there. If possible and serious about getting birds, then see and handle first hand. In my life I have acquired games from another not kin only twice. Both times I should have inspected bird in hand first. Still would have kept one but would have been better prepared for what I was getting into. If same guy, I probably got worst of lot because I was after color and not much else. Shame on me.

Flypen, why start with keeping them up?

No certain reason, I've been doing it this way for a long time and it's always worked. The old timer that got me started in gamefowl would leave his lights on all night for a few days then turn his timers on. I know all I have to do is start my timer at 4am.
