What's the most y'all have paid for gamefowl?
Everything I have came from eggs except one pair of blacks. I paid a couple hundred for the pair. They were worth it. I like to raise my own though. All things being equal and if the eggs are coming from good birds I like my chances this way. It will most likely cost me more in time, money, aggravation, frustration etc...but unfortunately experience is the best teacher. Sometimes you just have to literally make every mistake along the way to truly learn what not to do.

I paid $100 for the mcleans but he was having to moving and had a boat load of all types (he said he paid $250 for him as a quail size, but idk nor care) I'm happy with em as is, but as of now the spangled is with my Swedish flowers kinda curious as to what hatches out. The pullet I got with him is still to young as of yet to breed "pure".

As long as your happy with what you got for your money that's all that matters. Take it for what it's worth but there isn't much good that can come from breeding a gamecock to layers. Going backwards in my opinion.

What should your plans be with the offspring? Half game/half layer too aggressive to be housed together as layers normally would be yet not "game" enough to be worth a sh*t as gamefowl. Thats the kinda sh*t that ends up for sale on CL. My opinion only. They are yours so do what you want with them.

There's a lot of people that has been involved with gamefowl that have very deep pockets. Back then if you were winning consistently someone sooner or later was going to offer you some real money for a trio and to be honest no amount of money could buy them back then. I never bought anything until 6 years ago, my brother needed to freshen up his Clarets and an old friend sold me a pair for $300 which I thought was cheap for real Clarets. I've bought a couple other stags and pullets since then. 9 times out of 10 your best bloodlines will be gifted to you.
