Finally was notified about them .22 stingers were in stock. Got a few boxes coming. Those rounds are great. Only took like 2 years.

She can still have a productive life but it'll have to be in a pen so other hens aren't able to beat on her or critters being able to catch her.

Neither hen will be left suitable for free-ranging. I will construct a flypen with numerous purchases and dispersed nest boxes for just those hens. They will not be integrated with any others with exception of an old cock. Longer term challenge will be keeping feet in good condition.

Ive never seen a chicken loose a wing before.. hope she will be ok in the those cold winters without that layer of protection.

Id keep perches low so they dont mess up feet too bad jumping down

In my youth i saw a few brood cocks with really messed wings caused by dog or raccoon under conditions not unlike mine. They did fine but over coddling may have caused claw issues in some.

Never saw hens so kept and i suspect value as broody degraded. I will be watching impacts on brooding closely.
