@YdogsflY have you ever been to Sproul state forest in Pa? Plenty of trout streams in the area but loaded with timber rattlesnakes. I almost stepped on a black phase full grown with yellow rattle and I mean missed it by like 6 inches. Scared the p*ss outta me. I was looking for a wild trout stream so I was way back in there in a ravine.

Yes. Used to do a lot of Grouse hunting up there, but never got a chance to trout fish. Never ran into a Rattler though. 6 inches is close! Used to see one now and then at our old camp in Tioga county. But never been that close to one unless it was dead.

Most of my trout fishing has been in the Conewago, Yellow Breaches, Clear Creek, Clarion river and some small streams for Native Brookies in our local state forest around Pine Grove Forest and Caledonia.
