Raccoons and migrating ducks are great examples. Could be my terrible shooting but late season mallards require an rpg to bring down.I think their is interchangeable use of fat and obese here. Then I would start thinking in terms of condition factor. Condition factor varies a lot with breeding cycle, preparation for long distance migration and even preparation for winter like you see with raccoons and white-tailed deer in more northerly locals.
