Since the first mechanical Rage broadhead I've shot, I've never bought another brand
When they first came out they had some problems opening up. I knew a guy that used the older Oneida eagle bows. He lost like 3 deer using them when they first came out. This guy was probably one of the best I've ever personally seen shoot. I know they're good now but I'm used to shooting fixed blades. Less to go wrong. Even that wrecked broadhead dropped that deer where it stood.

Everything new product wither car, guns etc usually has some bugs to work out on the first run the next gen of production is usually spot on or atleast better. With everyone pushing for numbers instead of quality thats what we get even with outdoorsman stuff and its ashame.

Yes sir, I can believe that very easy, but I can tell you that since I've been shooting them and 2 other guys that hunt more than me now shoot nothing but Rage, honestly I've lost only one that I shot with a rage and some of that could have been shot placement. It really don't matter as long as it shots good for you and you have confidence in it that's all you need.

I sold my Matthews and the pse got stolen i got out of bow hunting i shoot for meat anyhow and just wait till rifle season. Between her family and us we had a total of 95lbs of ground HB not to mention back straps, hams, jerky and summer sausage.

Yep. I haven't lost one yet (knock on wood). Almost with a muzzloader though. (Sh*tty) Powerbelts.
I know most guys use mechanicals now. The way I see it is there is more moving parts and more to potentially go wrong. Them little o rings can get screwed up etc.. Magnus aren't all that fancy but the steel they use is good and I haven't found any that come out of the package sharper. They're guaranteed not to break too.
I've tried muzzy phantoms out of my bow and it shoots them like 3 inches left at 30 yds while the stingers are dead on, both the 2 blade and 4 blade. I use 125 grain head and 400 grain carbon shafts.

But i do have a old recurve maybe 35lbs at best i like em for target and the simple fact that you can un string them with the leg an slight pressure on the bow.
Doing that will void most warranties. Could torque/twist the limbs. I know everybody does it though. Yeah it seems like most just like em for target stuff but I want to hang up the compound eventually and just hunt with a longbow/recurve. I won't hunt deer with one until I feel good about it though. I may get some small game hunting in this season and maybe some late season deer hunting if I get one soon enough.

Yeah this ones probably as old as me good luck with it im sure the one you have in mind is a lot stronger and faster than mine i think its a ben pearsons 60 pony and can read wt-25# so just 25lbs when my mathew was at 75lbs lol.

I've used G5 broadheads for years. A couple years ago a buddy gave me some Swhacker mechanicals. "They fly just like field points and kill fast" he said. Well, I had to do some adjustment to get them to hit where I wanted, just like I do with a fixed broadhead. Though, they did fly a little closer to the field points.

We went to Florida for a hog hunt. I figured I'd used the Swhakers to try them out. The few hogs I got, There was a bigger hole, the hogs only ran an average of 40 yards, which is less than the G5's I normally use. I was pleasantly surprised by the blood trail, which was thick and easy to track through the palmettos. I've been a fan ever since, but still use the G5's for deer. The damage to the mechanicals was a turnoff. Unusable after hitting a hog or a tree, but did their job well and no failures.
