great post I think that's the most likes I've seen to one post and I imagine it'll go up. It's not often you get to listen to someone with so much love and experience for the fowls we trying to keep around.

Thank You SDM, I thoroughly enjoy this part of BYC, each one of your posts is so appreciated. Knowing You and Flypen best(I thank personally both of you for kindness expressed) on this group, i can honestly say there are good and honest people out there and this whole group reflects that.
SDM my personal thanks to you for being an honest, level-headed gamefowl Man.

Now, how about You, your chickens, the weather and water over your way ????? Hope You and Flypen are doing OK - Safe and Dry.
Friend, i don't think I could take living below the Mississippi River!! (lol)
We have not had rain in south Alabama in few days, it had been raining every day. I've tried to raise a few this yr but had many problems besides just being able to drag myself down there feed & water and drag myself back to the house, I've had coon, possum, and electric fence problems. Killed 6 possums and hope I killed a coon or more w/indigestion.
I have all my material to build pens but can't find help, all the good ones get a regular job pretty quick and the others that show up work good for one day and it's downhill from there. (am i paying enough at $!0 up to $15 an hour even more on good jobs?)

I keep trying ... I lost 2 or 3 in last few days that flew over into dog yard(crazy suicide fly-over) (first time in 25 yrs that the dog yard has been there) some of the few this yrs Mclean hatch.
I had wanted to share some with few good friends but I don't know if there will be enough for me.

There was one video I watched a red hen of some sort of utility breed just nail the course, full run right across the line... someone had that one trained... and then another video winner that was an oriental of some sort, that hen not only dwarfed the others but after a running start did a leap to the end of the course and ran across... those two not in the video I posted seem to know dinner was at the end of the course...

This is a sport perfect for my village... I think I found our UK sister village. :lau

Here's a proper track

I like this set up as the birds can't attack each other...

I went and looked at Wild land birds known for speed running, just musing on what the ultimate racing chicken form should look like... long solid legs, big solid feet, equally long neck but not high station per say. They need wings for balance more than flying. Just musing form and function.

level headed couid be debatable at times lol anyway yesterday was beautiful sun out breezy not many clouds more days like those get u back in the chicken mood. If you could stay north of I-12 I-10 you'd be half way ok. Sucks about the dogs. I have neighbors that just moved in next door last weekend they had a birthday party and one of the kids threw their football over the fence 2 came over knocked asked to go get it we went to the back and it landed between the privacy fence and electric fence. I told them watch the electric fence they stopped in thier tracks lol one asked is that to keep the chickens in? I told him no that's to keep dogs out it'll electrocute them. The other one said "cool" while the one that asked just stared I guess he's the new neighbor cause I've heard a dog over there. Hopefully that'll have them keeping their dog away. As far as good help goes well you know how that goes. I know one person I'd really trust to be there to help do stuff around here. 10-15hr is good money if that don't keep em around I don't think nothing will. If you need a hand for a day pm me the wife's always up for a road trip lol
