I give feed and water every single day to every single pen. That way they always have fresh water which I think is important and that way my eyes are on every bird every day. I will notice any issues immediately. The bonus is they definitely will get used to you quicker and the younger stags seem to calm down a little better.I use hanging feeders, but have wondered if feeding daily also helps calm the birds down. By that I mean are the birds "happier" to see you and forget about their fear? I bribe mine with treats as I like them coming to see me and enjoy listening to them "talking".
owner of this one did that and is regretting itThere's a huge difference between doing something for fun and trying to earn a living at it. I would bet you might feel differently if you had to do it day in and day out regardless of the weather
I believe it's $19 for the 5 grain scratch and $14.50 for the 20% pellets 50 lb bags. How much does your southern states charge for that feed havoc?
A few of them leave a little pellets and whole corn but other than that they clean it upThanks. It looks like a standard ration to me. It uses the whole grains instead of milled, but with a little more variety. I am surprised by the animal products. Do your birds eat the sunflower seeds? I have tried feeding them to mine, but most show little interest, unless they are hungry.
Once it gets cold the birds will eat all the boss and corn first then the millet then the oats and pellets. Summertime the corn is last to go usually. They know what they need imo.A few of them leave a little pellets and whole corn but other than that they clean it up
Feeding every day would be that big of a deal for me, as I do water everyday. My concern is pens with multiple birds.I give feed and water every single day to every single pen.
