Sorry to hear that. I like dogs just as well as the next person, but when they roam and do damage like that it is hard to have much sympathy for them or the owner.I put a few stags on tie cords last night, got up this morning to find 2 dogs that had killed one and working on the second one. What's really crazy is I culled 2 of the 3 of these stags to have one to breed back with, now I'll have to wait to try again next year. I missed the first one running, but the second one went back up the road with a few holes in his as*. Maybe he'll die in his own yard, sob. They just kill for the fun of it, it's not like a hungry animal. I wish I would've went out with a shotgun, but I don't think they'll be back, but if one does shame on him. They went through my hot wire twice, helping both times. I guess I need to put a 25w bulb on a 120vac plug.
Unfortunate. Hotwire stops them most of the time, but not always. I am going to use fencing like used for sheep and goats next year and boarder it with hotwire. My dogs take hits from wire when after something giving a good yelp but they usually stay on mission. I also no the game of being set back a year with line breeding, or having it terminate a generate short of objective because of such.I put a few stags on tie cords last night, got up this morning to find 2 dogs that had killed one and working on the second one.
