I'm going to single pen breed her next season. I'm not saying it was hard to pick out her offspring, but I need get a better spectrum of what she can produce. Its funny because when we first introduced this hen and one of her sisters, they were immediately outcasted. They came in overweight, and would get their butts kicked by the radio hens (this is before I learned about quarantine). I lost one to a predator and this is the only one left. But nowadays the radios avoid her, she likes to be solo, and if one of the other hens walk up near her she will unleash some hell and outlasts the other hen in terms of stamina.
Her son I posted came out solid all the way around, not as dumb as the Radios, but as quick. So I'm certain she has some value, we will see, it not then o well.

So I guess that's what I'll label her.

I don't bother with quarantine. Not saying people shouldn't. Haven't had any problems. If I were to get something out of my circle I might but prolly wouldn't

thanks I'ma get a young one. It will still be awhile. I am about to start building his habitat and want it complete and running to be sure any issues are worked out before he arrives.

That's the best way to do it... go big as you can too, unless you like expanding frequently, lol... they go through hella growth spurts and will double in size on ya quick... one we rescued was skin and bones, maybe 8 inches long when we got it... he hit 3 foot before a year was out...
