I hear you. We use the stove as our main source, simply because we like the type of heat. It gets fired up in the fall and burns all winter long. We are the same way on wood too. No pine, but whatever hardwood is free. Between friends and power company trimming, I have not had to buy wood in a long time.

Sometimes it is just hard to fight mother nature. Heat slows me down, but cold slows everything down. Things just don't work the same!
Yeah me too. I have propane furnace and keep it set at 65 but I don’t let it kick on much. No natural gas lines here.

What is odd about this is we have no snow on the ground. Typically, the extreme windchill is part of blizzard conditions that keeps birds on roost for a couple days where they do not come down at all. Everything is setting up for a nasty drought in 2018 if it does not start involving serious precip soon.
