I couldnt imagine a hawk getting two fowl... I thought they hit, grab a hold and fly off with their prey.

I've never had a hawk come after an adult chicken.
A Cooper’s hawk will run them down on the ground. Plenty of videos out there with them landing then walking into a coop
Most hawks eat the neck and the breasts right where it was killed On the ground.

wow. thats bold. I would think a cock would whoop a walking hawk... but I guess I should watch a video before assuming.

I typically see Red Tails or Sharp skinned Hawks carry off with a rabbit in grip. Hard to say if it was partially eaten though.
 
My wife saw one of my pullets doing a stand-off with a juvenile Cooper’s hawk on the ground. Must have missed and was chasing the pullet around a little pine tree in the yard. Wife said she ran around a few times then bowed up to the hawk. She ran outside and the hawk flew off. Who knows how that would have turned out.
