It looks nice and I am not trying to rain on your parade, but, is that #8 hardware cloth on the bottom? That small stuff really cakes up with manure. Commercial brooders are about 1/2" material and if you are worried about chicks dropping through, you can lay something temporary over it. The get used to the wire pretty quick.
 
Dang blue hen is gonna give me a stroke she's never on the nest. I keep thinking she is abandoning it but no she knows what she's doing

I've only used .5" no problems with day olds
 
Cruel and unusual is letting them eat their own crap on the ground and building cocci then letting their intestines hemmorhage and bleed out till they die of shock
 
throw some straw on top of the wire and clean it out once a week. Wire will keep moisture/mildew down and the straw will collect poo, provide warmth and footing.
