When it’s real hot I only feed them 1/4 of their normal feed and then in the evening. During summer I mix in vitamins and electrolytes but only a tiny bit because they won’t drink it otherwise. From my experience when the heat index is high there’s rarely even a breeze. Shade and fresh clean water seems to work just fine.A heat index above 105 gets a little rough on the birds. The best thing is shade and water. If you know it is going to be an issue, you can pull feed away from the birds until later in the evening. A little hunger is better than heat stress or dead birds.
