She may have some from her first flock I think they are pretty nice birds, but her project flock is still a work in progress I believe.......stam

So is ther anyone non hatchery that is sellin eggs or birds out to the general public?
Hi Jeremy, thanks for your response. I posted pics of my Dels on a new thread, but it´s got overlooked, so here are some pics. I´ve no idea how they really compare to the ideal, but they´re pretty chunky, nice natures, good colour legs, although on the dark side with their markings. They must be from hatchery stock, as the dealer gets chicks of various breeds most weeks. Sometimes he gets a lot that look like Delaware, sometimes he tells me they´re Canadense, but I have my doubts. Some are orange and stripey! I did buy 5 chicks recently, 2 looked right, 3 had chipmunk stripes so I think those must be a mix? 2 of them have very dark first plumage. Photo of a pair, the other hen you´ve seen, 3 of the chicks at play-time (the 2 darker ones had the chipmunk stripes), and the 5 chicks together.(the other that has faint chipmunk stripes is the one in the middle) I think I have at least two males among them, I´ll see if any is better than the one I already have. At least 3 of the chicks have ok colouring, so I´ll see how they turn out. The darkies are very pretty, though.
