TNchickenut - if you want an opinion, I really like roo #1 better than his brother and his daddy-it looks like he has darker tail barring and a better wing set- but to tell the truth, I spent two hours outside with my Dels yesterday afternoon trying to get pictures of the 4 roos that are in the running, and I am cross-eyed. I will post this weekend after I sort them out. Buckshot may be taken over by my Roo#2- I asked DH for his opinion and he says unless Buckshot fills out more, the other roo is meatier. BUT they are only 12 weeks old, so time will tell.
One sweet thing- I got bone tired and sat down in the middle of them, and Janie and Eleanor almost immediately jumped on my lap and sat with me. Buckshot curled up against my back. It was a nice family gathering. Ultrasuede and my Roo2 got into it and Cora broke them up. I also noticed that Rejectible Roo #1 is the biggest, brightest looking and already appears to have the makings of a good barnyard roo. He looks out for those girls, and looks around for potential threats all the time.
Cynthia, as I recall from pics you posted a zillion years ago, you had a lot of smut on the backs of some of yours. And then it molted out, right? All my roos have a lot of smut, only one hen does. They have gone through a minor molt at 9-10 weeks. Will the spring molt take care of the smut if they are going to lose it?
I need to start taking NOTES in a notebook from this thread so I have a handy dandy quick Delaware guide at my finger tips.
Catdaddy- thanks for answering me about the yellow skin. I thought they were supposed to, but can't remember. Like I said, I need a notebook.
Cetawin- you would have been proud of Ultrasuede standing his ground yesterday- he isn't going to take poop from anyone. I will post a picture of him, too, so you can see how much he and Athena resemble each other.
