Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

We leave Sunday nite at midnite....are you ready? 15 hr flight from LAX to "wherever"....uuuggghhhh. I feel a BIG bottle of red wine and a sleeping pill finding their way into my carry-on bags. I'll see ya at the airport! BTW - we're coming back on the 27th so I'm not sure if you'd miss the "southbound wagon train" or not

Scott,
Those Delawares are excellent. The seller is Claudia. She is most wonderful ! Her stock originates from Janet, also. I have some in the bator, due to hatch this Friday! EVERY one of them is developing!

Go ahead and get them! I am setting some SQ Barred Rocks on Saturday before I leave. I don't think the Del eggs would get to me before I am "across the pond". Looks like she lives nearby (Alabama is "nearby" for us Ga folks)...maybe I can get some when I return

I do NOT envy you that trip. We moved twice in one year (once after our house sold, then again 6 months later after the new one was finished)....I HATE moving! You really realize how much "stuff" you really have (and a lot of it that you have, but never use)

Travel safe!!

I think you'll love it down here once you get here!

Claudia's are so obviously related to Isaac and Janet's George, it's amazing. The issues are that the best lines around are all related to each other and anything you bring in from elsewhere won't be near the quality, IMO. So, what do you do? Well, you see what the hatcheries did--they bred in Columbian Rocks, then didnt not cull sufficiently to bring them back up to standard. It's hard when there are so few good lines available.

Guess I'll just stick to "line breeding". I did talk to Tom Richardson (a guy in Pa who's been helping me with Columbian Rocks) and he mentioned he has Dels!!

He is a show quality breeder....so, I think I'll try calling him tonight and see what I can find out. Will get some pictures, etc. Maybe we can introduce some new blood (if its of good quality). Glad we got on that topic of it probably would have never come to mind.
