Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

My Delawares are already fatties... and I haven't even begun feeding them treats.

I better start stocking up on the chick feed, I can't wait for them to be here!

Congrats on the egg! I think that is about the norm to begin laying. Lucky Beth, hers started earlier! I am still waiting!

Got another yesterday and two today, so at least two of mine are laying. None have been left in a laying box...

To my friend Ladyhawk, Suede's biggest fan: I did it. I went into Suede's pen, picked him up and loved on him, just like you asked me to. He looked a bit confused, to say the least, LOL, but he submitted to it without much struggling.

Cetawin, many prayers and good thoughts for your safe trip-blessings, Ladyhawke.

Kathy, you are one funny, wonderful lady. You help make BYC a great place. I thought there was a really good looking roo in batch #1- why do you say there are no keepers?

Cynthia, I bet Suede could turn into a big snuggle bunny. . . .you might want to keep picking him up for lovin'.

Tim, Yay! more eggs!

Rwoman, can we see your Dels? I would love to see how they have developed!

Jeremy- I can't wait for the pictures - I love chickie pics.

Yesterday was one of those horrible days. I have some processed Delawares in my frig, awaiting the next step of the freezer and/or my MIL's roaster. My hands are crippling up, working on pens and runs is getting harder and harder, and Ultrasuede needs the space I have already partitioned off. The girls were being picked on, and over-enthusiastically jumped by 6 precocious Delaware roos. (wasn't only my hens that were early maturing) The roos were picking each other bloody, and I had to make choices. Luke and Buckshot and all 8 girls are calm and happy now. Luke especially. I couldn't watch- I really felt bad about the two roos with Columbian markings, as they were sweet with me. However, I advertised at feed stores, and here and there were no takers. I still plan to try having a male line and female line crossing certain girls with Buckshot and certain girls with Luke.

And then one of my cats disappeared.

Some days just_______.

Well Cyn, you'd best do that a couple times per week so when I get there, so he will be able to handle an hour of holding....cause he will submit to that hour , when I get there to visit him.

Beth, I am so sorry. I know how hard it must have been to dispatch two friendly boys. But, we never can keep them all can we?

But everyone is happy now and has plenty of room so YAY!

On the moving front....the U-haul is here and after the storage units were loaded, it means no couches are going and my two 42" in TVs most likely will not go. I have to have the room for the birds.... *sigh*

Well back later all.
