Three Delaware hatches that I recall:
Hatch # 1 .... 7 roos, 6 pullets
Hatch # 2 .... 8 roos, 2 pullets
Hatch # 3 .... 11 roos, 11 pullets
I hate to get rid of my Delaware roosters when they are growing out. I am always afraid I will cull too soon, and get rid of the good ones. PLUS, I love watching the Delaware boys develop into a thing of beauty.
You ask, "How many heads roll as soon as you know it's a roo?" I plan to keep only 2 Delaware roosters, but have 4 now. I have culled quite a few, but try not to get in a rush, cuz I want to keep the best ones, ya know? It takes time, alot of time. What I am trying to say is, I don't cull them as soon as I know they are roosters. I wait it out.
