Hey folks!

As you know my hens are about 7 months old now - till now there has been no smut on their backs/shoulders - Patsy is now starting to show some smut there - is this odd or usual as they get older as pullets?
They just had their granny smith apple snack and i noticed the smut! DARNIT! lol

I'm gearing up with a bucket of warm water with just enough mild bar soap to break the surface tension of the water. Armed with an old washcloth, a veteran of many years of dedicated service; I will take a stand against all things pasty! No longer shall my chicks live in fear of matted puffery. Nor shall they let things build up; but freely "vent"!
