I forgot...

WELCOME Horizonson! It is good to have another Dellie friend join us.

Pink, congrats on some more chicks, how many does that make now? I hope you have end up with a good amount of pullets to roos.

I just love Delaware chicks. Always thought plain yellow chicks would be boring, but you could never accuse a Delaware of being boring!

BTW, do some of them have a pasty butt issue? May just be the pic, but you may want to check out some little fluffy bums.

This morning when I checked on my chicks one of my Del chicks had that pasty butt problem. I must have missed it. And further more she was pushed up in the corner and was in criticle shape. She did eat and drink after her bath, but still looks tattered. Anyway, I just thought I would share. I am afraid she will die.

My chicks are only a week old, and my meat cross chicks are huge. I think I had better separate them out. THey are attacking my hand in the morning and I imagine they attack the little egg layer chicks when I am not looking.

I was going to ask about the "pasty butt issue". How do I know if it is just "hangin" or "pasty"? If their lil vents are clear, then we're okay, right?

Thank you!

Well, it makes sense that you saw nice birds from Welp and Privett, because Welp drop ships from Privett.

I ordered some Orloffs from them in August and was very happy, maybe I'll order a bunch of Orloffs and Dels in the spring and just plan on culling hard.
