Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

What? I thought Indian River was the original name for a Delaware before it was named after it's state. Is there something new that I'm missing?

I've got a broody faverolle. If she stays put in her new digs today, I'm going to give her the del X del x blue barred rock eggs I've been saving. They'll be 3/4 delaware, just waiting to see how the blue comes into play.

Cackle sells this cross but it isn't sexlinked if you used a New Hampshire cock over Delaware hens you could have sexlinks these chicks from the Del x NH cross look just like Dels act just like Dels...my New Hampshires are very much like Dels lay a jumbo egg friendly socialible always underfoot finding good NHs is almost as hard as finding good Delawares. At least the NH have better tails and seem to help the color on the crosses I haven't hatched out 50 but once in a while it seems you can get a red chick.....I am just using my #2 cock over the NH and have seemed to hatch out some mighty nice babies so as I upgrade my New Hampshires and use a better cock I hope the quality goes up even more the trick is getting good stock in both breeds as they've been let go
