Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Great thread - have quite enjoyed reading through -- Delawares have entered my radar for part of my new flock. I was previously in an area where the selection and variety offered by the local feed stores was quite limited, and have recently relocated to where it's like Baskin Robbins when you go to the chick section. Haven't had time to network just yet to find the local breeders, but hatchery stock is all I really need right now anyway.
Anyway - to the point, one of the "new" breeds available to me out here are Delawares, and I am very much looking forward to my new flock having one in it!

One of the best US lines of Delaware is in Oregon. Look up Oregon Delawares or same at Facebook. you won't be disappointed starting with quality.

Aww those babies are cute! I have four delawares in the brooder, myself, and two cinnamon queens. Mine are three weeks now, beginning the "dinosaur bird" phase. One thing I've noticed about this breed, they grow really fast! At only three weeks, I know online it says they need temp of 85 to thrive, but they seem to be comfortable in the 67 degree room and spend barely any time under the brinsea eco glow.

Babies got some dirt time today

Seems to me the males have lots of excess color at this stage.

Most of these are almost 5 weeks the wellies and one of the Dels are 10 days older. 12 in all and Im pretty sure 6 Del boys.
