Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Janet!!!! SO happy to see you here! Isaac is just the best boy I could have hoped for and he also is much like his daddy, I believe. Combs are hard with these, but I believe his is really nice. I'm not sure if my first little pullet will have 4 or 5 points on hers, but she did prove that my Kira's comb will not necessarily be passed on, with Isaac's wonderful influence in the mix. Gracie's is very straight and has nice little points on it.

I have 29 little Ikelettes in the bator right now, though I wasn't planning on brooding chicks through winter. This will be a good opportunity for someone to buy some chicks to start their own Del flock.

Yes, Isaac is a lot like like George. And, unlike my male, he has George's size. This fella isn't going to be as big as Ike, but he's got some ginormous pullets in with him, so we'll see...

29 Ikelettes!

My goodness, that's great. I hope you get a good hatch.

My DH is seriously impressed with the Delawares now. The chicks from the very start are just amazing. He even hinted that he likes them even better than the BRs now, which is astounding, knowing how much we've always loved our BRs.

Your welcome rustywoman!

Here's an announcement!
My Animal Science class is hatching some of my eggs, and some of Delawares are mixed in. Guess what? They are hatching today!! Its too early though, and I'm a little worried...

I still don't have my pics on the computer yet. I can used my mom's $1200 camra, but I don't know how to upload the pics from it. lame I know

who would have guessed that b/w birds could be so stuning?!

I gave my Del chicks yogurt for the first time today (am I supposed to warm it up because I did)

Anyway, they looked at me as to say "You are kidding, right?"

So I dipped a few beaks and I wish I had taken pictures. Their little faces had yogurt and pine shavings stuck to them. Then they would wipe their faces in the shavings to get them off and come back up looking the same.

They are all nice and clean and content now and most of it is gone.

Those are really nice looking birds but ya'll just wait till my Fattie and Cannonball grow up....they are gonna be awesome and of course, the best dellies out there because they are being spoiled and trained to be perfect now. ahem
