Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Yellow down? Mine have varying amounts of yellow, but they are definitely yellow chicks. Germaine, it's way early to really say what they'll turn out to be. You know what my Isaac is like. Let me see if I can find a picture of him at about five weeks old--I used to call him "The Rockstar" till we realized that what we saw in him at that age, really made him my keeper then he got a proper name. Will take a few minutes.

Thank you Cynthia! I was really wondering about the chicks. I know they have the yellow down. But they kept the yellow heads for quite awhile (looked a little odd) and a few still have their yellow head.
I would love to see pictures of Isaac as a chick. Rockstar? He had to live up to his famous name that's why he's so great.

As far as yellow heads, some of the ones in the brooder are still pretty yellow at the base of the neck, but that seems to fade quickly. Can't find one that young of Isaac that I know for sure is him (didn't label them all at the time), but here is one at six weeks then older so you can see how he changes. They change so darn much between five and fifteen weeks, you wouldn't know it was the same bird:

Cynthia,
Thank you from me, too, for posting the pictures. That was an excellent set of pics of Mr. Perfection (a.k.a.Isaac, a.k.a. my dream chicken!!!)- it was really interesting to watch how the black moved around on him - sort of like it migrated into the right places. . . . all these pictures of juvenile Dels are helping me to know what to expect and what to look for!
I hope whoever is getting chicks gets them SOON! Germaine=Rustyswoman????
And Rancherhicks. . . .Nearly Headless Nick???? PLEASE tell how he got that name. . . .sounds like there is a good story behind it!
Beth
