Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

OMG did you see that? She blamed my two precious little sweet innocent *cough choke cough* Dellies of inciting a riot in her rubbermaid palace. Well I Never!

Actually...if any two could do it...it would be my two precious heathens!

Cannot blame her for calling it like she sees it...it is probably all true.

Cetawin,
No, no, I simply said Buckshot was mind speaking your two innocents, if I even SLIGHTLY hinted that mine are learning guerrilla tactics from yours, I apologize. Buckshot never confessed where he was getting his ideas. . . . . .

Superchick says Dellies don't rat each other out.

Actually, if mine ARE getting ideas from yours, I would be overjoyed- yours seem SO friendly - I WANT chickens that are all over me.

Rustyswoman, you have some lovely, round bodies and I bet you will have great markings - I do think the one in the middle on the first shot is a roo - was that the one in question?

I think both pics show a male, Germaine. I had one of those very slow developing boys that surprised the heck out of me, but only because he didn't have alot of color as he should have had. The markings on yours look like a cockerel. You should have seen Gracie at that age. She had several very barred tail feathers and now, she has only wonderful tail black. Have to get an updated picture of her for you, but that girl acts more like an Orp than a Delaware and screams if you pick her up--she was raised by a broody with two Orp siblings and they were a bad influence on her, LOL.

Thank you Cynthia! After I posted those pictures I kept looking and looking and even though the comb is so small the coloring just says roo.

I thought that was a strange coloration for a girl and am glad to have your vote that he is Roo.

I have been having so much fun feeding the chicks the egg yolk. They run around like quarterbacks in there trying to keep their pieces of yolk from another chick who believes it should be theirs. It is hilarious.

Do you give them the white too or just the yolk?

Oh and thank you too Joletabey, the one in the middle is a Light Sussex roo. I have them in with the Dels and a few Marans to keep each other warm in my seperate little coop.

They love it in there and the big birds can't bother them and eat all their food or special treats.

LOL Don't you worry about it at all...I was teasing you. My girls are friendly heathens but I assure you they are heathens.

My two girls would corrupt your entire Dellie flock in a split second.

speckledhen broke my DH's heart because of a sneaky Dellie. He wanted a roo so bad and we thought until she was about 5-6 weeks old that Fattie was a roo. The markings and all were very rooish from the get go.

I love the pictures, so sweet looking! Baby chicks are just so... Innocent... Until their a week and half old and thats when the experimenting starts with the wings and the waterers and the... yeah, you get the idea

The 12 chicks I have right now are kinda odd. If the feed doesnt make a cone into the top of the chick feeder, they wont eat it and complain loudly, and I KNOW they can reach it

Cetawin,
If I could send you one of my roos, I would. I am convinced about three or four of them already!

And, everyone, I am very excited, as some of them are starting to get that nice rounded look- I am so grateful to have all of your pictures so I know what to look for. DH brought the camera home, so tomorrow will be pic day!!! And Superchick is feathering out more and more every day.
