Show off your Delawares! *PIC HEAVY*

Oh wow, that soup sounds yummy. I have yet to find a substitute flour that can make a decent pasta. I can make a wonton wrapper and that is as far as I can get. It would crumble before it would make tortellini.

It's the gluten in wheat flour that gives it all of that lovely stretch.

Now a lovely bottle of wine...that would make this fire lovely. However, I've got my cake (made from potato starch, white rice flour, and tapioca starch per CherryBrook Kitchens) with butter cream frosting, a cold glass of milk and my tree finally up but not decorated!

I asked my brother Jarrett if he would close my birds up cuz I need to finnish some jewelery for tomorrow. He said they gave him that not the mama look. lol, I could just see it, they start to rush the door, then freez...I bet they are out there now, looking at each other, well at least he fed us...

Well, I did finally get some work done today! My Del babies are going outside to their new home tomorrow. I've had a chat with them, and after all the whining and crying, they did accept it. I had to promise to come outside to play in their new coop, when I get home at night (midnight, yeah right). LOL

The feedstore called me today. They had a grandpa in, and he was looking for a rooster for his grandson for Christmas. All the grandson wants for Christmas is a rooster and an incubator. He has 14 hens. So, the story goes, Grandpa went to a guy that carves decorations out of tree trunks. He had the guy carve out a rooster. He took it to the grandson. .... yea, you know where this is going .... The grandson cried! That brings us to the present. Feedstore recommended me. The guy calls and within 30 minutes came out to visit. DH gave him the grand tour (LOL). Grandpa bought 2 roosters, and asked if he could bring the grandson out to visit one day. Now, the good part ..... Grandson is SIX years old! I was crackin' up. I thought sure it would be a teenager or older.

Anyway, on with my day .... I got rid of all my hatchery stock. The older lady picked them all up today. Now, what I have left .... some lonely, sad roosters! The 2 Christmas roosters (Ricky RIR, and Rupert Cuckoo Marans) are still here. Grandpa will pick them up closer to Christmas. Then, I still have Obama (BEAUTIFUL mutt) and Baby (Polish Crested). I did keep my 5 Easter Eggers (hens), and 1 Cuckoo Marans (Shirley) that ran and hid during our escapade of catching chickens! The roosters are a mess. They were running here and there, calling the girls frantically. It's a lonely coop tonight! Tomorrow will be more of a shock to them .... cuz they are movin' to the bachelor's pad, to make way for the next group of (soon to be) layers.

DH made me a couple more electical outlets. So, now, everyone has electricity for the water heaters. The Silkies were very happy!

And, how was your day ??????

uh huh that is Cannonball and her mind control stuff. Always preceeds trouble....right after that "look" she turned around and went after the shiny bows on the packages.

Fattie has the most GLORIOUS tail feathers!!!!!! WOW! I hope Ultrasuede has that pretty color Athena has!

Rustyswoman- they look SO sweet, and I sort of miss mine being that small and adorable -those are really good pictures, I love the last one, too!

Everyone has been so busy today, all I did was organize the big desk, dust, do laundry and play with my babies. Cetawin, you have your tree up and presents wrapped. I feel like a slug. . . .

Laney, welcome back, and I could have made the same mistake about Scott- I can't ever tell anyone's age anymore-

Update on Superchick- maybe a roo? The feathers are coming along nicely, and we are growing!! I have to look for him amongst the others now, he does not stand out anymore, except for being slightly smaller and still fuzzy on his head- but there is a kind of comb coming along. . . .pooh!

Thank you Joletabey she is a mess! She has her mom's habit of biting, hanging on and shaking her head like a pitbull. She went after Thor's wattles when they started to show and he screamed at her (sounded like a dinosaur of some sort), pounced on top of her and pancaked her to the floor....she leaves him alone now.

Cyn, I tried to get good pics of their tails for you....Cannonball has so few markings and then the splashed and barred tail feathers...their combs are still so small...LOL

I do think that Cannonball is very much like Phoebe in the hackles and in the tail black. Phoebe was the only one of my girls (not counting young Gracie) who had barred tail feathers, then got such nice tail black. And she is not quite as broad as Kira, Georgie, Ellie or Maxie.
