Those WFB Spanish are prety cute as chicks!! I have a question for all you dellie lovers... Do you feed your birds cooked eggs, like scrambled eggs? I'm thinking of fixing a little treat tray for each pen tomorrow, but I dont know if I can give them any/too much scrambled egg

Heffner is having problems, his eye was staying closed and half closed at the same time. Today, I treated him and he looked better, but I dont know. I hope the poor boy gets better.

Oh you sure can. My babies got a scrambled egg every day with their starter mixed in. Now they get it with applesauce and/or multi-grain blueberry pancakes. It is good for them. I scramble mine with no salt or butter just plain water mixed in the egg. They also like baked squash and sweet potato (never give chickens white potatoes).


PS: Cyn, make sure you take a pic of Suede eating his blueberry pancake from me...it is not every chicken that gets pancake mix mailed to them but he knows he is special.

I also feed scrambled or boiled eggs to my chicks and chickens. I just think they need the extra protein. I notice a difference with added protein and vitamins. I have also been using canned salmon lately. The little savages love that, as well! I bought a bag of Game Bird Conditioner, which is higher protein. I mix it in with their Starter, a couple days a week.

Yup.scrambled egg,oatmeal, yogurt and sweet potato- all big favs with my little angels. And they line up so politely to eat it, and they are all so very careful to make sure everyone gets a share. "After you, dearie" "Oh, no, after YOU". NOT NOT NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Slobs, grabbers, piglets. We all keep saying they are like this (except for Kathy, who won't admit the truth) and yet we all love them!
Crazylady- sounds nice- I am jealous- 4 coops!!!

Kathy- the sleepy baby pics are SO precious- you might almost believe that THIS bunch could be little angels!
