Still snowing, even increased. We expect at least a couple more inches up here. I watch the news out of Chattanooga, which is about half as far from me at Atlanta is. Yep, Kathy, looks similar. Guess I'll get more quilting done on my purple & gold quilt.

Oh, to stay on topic, it's the color of a Delaware chicken out there!

Cyn,

Do not send that my way! My chickens could not take it. So far so good. No sign of it except that you can't see the sky. Sitting in the McDonalds parking lot now because the wifi at TKD stinks. Hopefully all the chickens will put themselves in the barn or the coop tonight. We'll get them some extra food when I get home.

I am just facinated by color genetics. I really wish I could afford a book on it, but it would come down to book or better bator, and to be honest you can find all the information out on the internet if you search for it.

Poor poor boys.... Suede and Isaac and Zane and lil Shadow need to be here in Oregon where there is no nasty white stuffs.

Although it is a pretty scene Cyn and Kathy.

The bolding is for the emphasis on the topic of Delawares

Laney - You may not get it - but we have over 4 inches so far, and it's still coming down. It may stay west of you. DH and I have shoveled the deck and steps 5 times trying to keep up with it. Cyn and Kathy- ditto here. I wish I had the camera.

Scott- I may take you up on that offer! Gotta make sure those boys get their target practice!

For all you with 'bators and babies. I have a heat lamp in the coop, but I think at 11 weeks, mine should be OK without it? I only worry about Sunday night - various reports say 11 degrees to maybe even 8 degrees. Brr! I wonder what they will think of snow when they get a chance to go out in it?

I told Ladyhawk this on the phone today. We went to Walmart to replace a TV and it was dry. Got back to an inch of snow. The Delawares have a little section at the end of their pen that is covered with a tarp with a center pole to make it "tent up" in the center. The entire bunch was huddled under the tarp when we got home. The snow came on so suddenly that they were caught outside and wouldn't brave the open air to back into the coop pop door, about 15 feet away.

Oh dear, Cynthia, I can just see them huddled up waiting for you to come save them- did they walk in when you came or did you have to carry them?

DH shooed them inside. Silly things, scared of those lacy flakes floating down! Suede was inside his coop with his girls, like the good boy he is. The others in the main flock were a pain, though. They were all under the coop because they didn't want to walk in the white stuff.

I am going to ask a question that I think I already know the answer to but wanted other peoples thoughts. Is there a difference in a delaware and a giant delaware as advertised by a few people on ebay?
